Campaigns: Uber sued by victims of sexual assault

Uber is to be sued in the US by more than 550 women alleging they were sexual assaulted by drivers on the platform.

Uber has long failed to deal with complaints and instances of serious misconduct by drivers and its many serious failings in respect of passenger safety are well-documented. This is just the latest case to be brought against them.

Uber’s licence was revoked twice in three years in London over concerns that it wasn’t properly verifying drivers’ identities and was putting passengers at risk as a result. That’s not to mention the lack of adequate insurance, background checks and other due diligence that any ‘fit and proper’ operator should undertake.

Steve McNamara spoke to GB News about this latest case and how black cabs are the safe, more reliable, and increasingly cheaper choice for passengers in London.
