Campaigns: Supporting the cab trade’s recovery

The LTDA is working to highlight ongoing challenges facing cab drivers due to the pandemic and campaigning to ensure the trade has the support it needs to recover.

This includes calling on policymakers to take steps to get London moving again and boost confidence in the trade and lobbying the Chancellor to extend financial support beyond October and fix problems some have faced in claiming through the Self Employment Income Support Scheme, to ensure everyone can access the support they need. We are also taking every opportunity to shine a light on the devastating impact of excluding taxis from key areas of central London, unnecessary road closures and new road layouts, which are undermining the vital, accessible door-to-door service black cabs provide.
